We're at the outside of a maximum containment laboratory that was defined earlier as a P4 laboratory for recombinant DNA experiments who identify as the highest risk experiments that would be allowed under the guidelines. It is a building that is confined by secondary barriers which isolate the entire operations from the outside. It could be a separate building or it could be a laboratory within a building, but it has to have all separate systems. We're on the inside of the change room and I'm just now finishing putting on my suit, my inner suit, which I will then go into the suit area and put the pressurized suit on. Entering this airlock that separates the laboratory from the outside of the building. As you can see it contains a room that's made with doors that were on a submarine, it has a inflatable gasket that will actually isolate this entire area so that we can enter into the laboratory without anything escaping back into this space. The oxygen, air on the inside, so I can shut the door but still remain in air. Closing the door... the reason that there are two of us here is that we always have a buddy system when we come to work in a high containment P4 laboratory. It's very, very important when one is working in inflatable suits, as we are demonstrating today. In my suit which allows me to transition. This may look just like a typical laboratory with the exception of the suit that I'm wearing, and it's a very nice laboratory although it's somewhat cumbersome to do any type of activity in a suit of this nature.
